After our Annual General Meeting we will have Robert Clipperton as our guest speaker. Robert will be speaking on the “The Cypress Hills Massacre: Digging Behind the Dig”. All are welcome to attend!
*To find Room 2E25 from the Archaeology building, take the overhead bridge walkway from the stairway on the north end of the building (it will be between first and second floors), turn left in the overhead walkway that connects Agriculture and Engineering. The room will be opposite you just as you enter Agriculture.
Robert Clipperton: A Biography
Robert Clipperton is a past president of the Saskatchewan Archaeological Society and a member of the Society’s Publications Committee. An avocational archaeologist and amateur historian, he is the editor/compiler of the book “The Cypress Hills Massacre”.
Abstract: The Cypress Hills Massacre Site: Digging Behind the Dig
Robert Clipperton will review the details and controversies surrounding this tragic event. Of even more interest perhaps to those with a specific interest in archaeology, this session will recount the eighty year exploration of the site, some of the barriers encountered in compiling the information and through this volume, making it accessible to the public.
